About Me

I am a husband, father, worship leader, and avid runner... but more importantly, a child of God and a disciple (follower) of Jesus Christ.  I say more importantly because my views and attitudes on everything flow out of who I am spiritually.

I grew up as a son of a pastor.  My father led a small congregation and I found myself participating musically in Sunday services, even at an early age.  My love for music and commitment to God led me to study music in college.  A few years after graduating from college with a degree in music, I sensed that God was calling me to lead people in worship.  In 2000, I began leading worship on a regular basis at my home church, and have been leading worship consistently ever since then; at times directing the church choir, teaching Bible school classes on worship, and even assisting in the launch of a new congregation as its director of worship arts.

During the summer of 2002, I was looking for an inexpensive way to exercise that would help me lose some unwanted pounds and become more physically fit... so I began running. I started of pretty slow at first: running until I lost my breath (which happened pretty quickly).  With consistency and a little determination, a quarter mile soon became a half-mile, which soon became a mile, etc. Three months later I was entered into my first road race: a 10k.  Since then, I have logged thousands of miles and run numerous races.  Recently, I have been given the opportunity to help other beginning runners train for races and meet their fitness goals.

Whether in worship or in running, very few things bring me as much joy as helping people become all that they can be... which brings me to this blog.  Hopefully this will give me an arena to share some of my knowledge, experiences, insights, and lessons learned to help you the reader become all that God would have you become.  By trade, I work in the Business Intelligence field.  In a nut shell, Business Intelligence takes all the disperate data that a company stores over the years and turns that data into useful information.  My desire is to do that for you: give you some useful information - whether it is about worship or running, or anything else that falls inbetween.  Happy reading!
